Glendora, CA (Men’s Basketball) -- Citrus College freshman Kerry Carter was named this week’s Western State Conference South Division Player of the Week. It’s the fifth time an Owl has earned the award, and Carter is the third individual to earn it.
In his two games last week against West LA and Santa Monica Carter scored a total of 42 points, including a 24 point effort against the Corsairs on the road on Saturday. In that game Carter was 10 off 11 from the field, handed out two assists, and recorded two steals.
Against West LA earlier in the week, Carter scored 18 points, 17 of which came in the first half. Carter also blocked three shots, and had two steals. On the week, Carter shot 72.7% from the field, 50% from three, and pulled down 12 boards.
Carter and the rest of the Owls will be back out on the court this Saturday when they play host to Wednesday night’s winner between Imperial Valley and Allan Hancock in the first round of the CCCAA SoCal Playoffs. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
