Head Coach
Chris Victor

Head Coach Chris Victor begins his second season at the helm of the Fighting Owls Men’s Basketball team. In just his first season in charge, Victor led Citrus College to an appearance in the State Championship game during the 2010-2011 season, and moved on seven freshmen and sophomore to four-year universities, the highest number in the State.

Victor spent the previous four seasons as a top assistant at Concordia University in Irvine. In that span Concordia went 119-22, won three out of four Golden State Athletic Conference Championships, and made four straight appearances in the NAIA National Tournament, even appearing in the National Title Game in 2006-07.

Victor’s coaching career began here at Citrus. After completing a successful playing career at Concordia, Victor joined former head coach Rick Croy’s first staff at Citrus. Victor spent one season on the bench for the Fighting Owls helping guide them to a 17 win season, their second highest win total in over a decade.

Prior to his coaching career, Victor was a decorated player at Concordia. Victor played a key role in the Eagle’s teams that went to back to back NAIA Title Games in 2003 and 2004. In the 2003 title game, Victor scored a season high 26 points and dished out 9 assists as he helped lead Concordia to its first National Championship in program history. Victor is ranked in the Top 10 All-Time Scoring list in points and 3-pointers, and is third All-Time in assists and steals for Concordia.

 

Associate Head Coach
Chris Acker

Chris Acker

Coach Acker is in his fourth season with the Fighting Owls. During his first season on staff, Acker played a tremendous role in Citrus’ first ever State Championship. Coach Acker’s role with the Fighting Owls includes: player development, perimeter player performance, conditioning, scouting, and serving as a summer camp director.

Coach Acker’s collegiate career got kick started at Howard College in Big Springs, Texas. From there Acker moved onto College of the Desert where he played one season with, and was a 1st team All-Conference selection as he scored over 20 points a game. After leaving COD Acker continued on to Chaminade University. While at Chaminade, Acker averaged nine points and eight rebounds a game.

When his collegiate playing career ended, Acker moved on to the professional ranks where he played professionally in China and Greece, before spending a season with Marinkense Portugal. Acker went on to average 24 points, six assists, and four rebounds a game in Portugal. Following his stint in Portugal Acker moved on to the ABA, playing for the Detriot Wheels, before finishing his career in the CBA where he was a top ten scorer and All-League selection for the Pittsburgh Explosion.

Acker has a son Malakai, and a wife, Jennifer.

 

Assistant Coach
Pat Johnson

Assistant Coach Patrick Johnson begins his second season with the Fighting Owls. Johnson joined Citrus during the 2010-2011 season, and helped lead the Owls to the State Championship game. Johnson joined the Citrus bench after spending a season NCAA DII member Missouri Southern State University, and the season prior to that as an assistant coach at nearby NCAA DIII Claremont McKenna College.

Out of high school Johnson was a highly touted baseball player, earning a scholarship at prestigious Duke University. While at Duke, Johnson walked on to the basketball program and played four seasons for legendary Coach Mike Krzyzewski. While with the Blue Devils, Johnson appeared in numerous ACC and NCAA Tournament games.

At the conclusion of his playing career Johnson began his coaching career at Claremont High School where he spent two seasons with the Wolfpack.
