Glendora, CA (Women’s Basketball) -- When the All-Western State Conference team was announced recently, the Citrus College Women’s Basketball team was proud to have three representatives named to the post-season honors. Freshman Briana Barfield and sophomore Krystyn Jacobs led the way as they were both named to the 1st team.
Barfield became the first Lady Owls in two years to be named to the 1st team as a freshman. Barfield led Citrus in scoring and rebounding averaging 16.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game during the 2009-2010 season.
Jacobs had a stand-out 2009-2010 season as well. Jacobs averaged 10.7 points per game and led the WSC in assists per game and was sixth in the State among all sophomores averaging 5.7 assists per game.
Joining Jacobs and Barfield on the All-WSC team was sophomore Bianca Nunez who picked up Honorable Mention honors. Nunez was second on the team averaging 11.1 points per game and led the team with 75 steals.
