Glendora, CA (Women’s Basketball) -- Citrus College sophomore women’s basketball player Jasmin Thomas has accepted an offer from San Diego Christian College to continue her playing career with the Hawks next season.
“I really wanted to stay close to home, and I liked the staff and girls that are in place at San Diego Christian,” Thomas said. “Citrus gave a great opportunity to get my academics in order this last year, and it paid off with me being named a Scholar Baller.”
Thomas appeared in 10 games during the 2010 WSC schedule, making three starts for the Lady Owls. Thomas averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in just over 25 minutes a game.
“Jasmin was one of the first kids I noticed after taking this job. She has an infectious smile that lights up a room, and has committed herself to working very hard over the past few weeks so that she is prepared for her new career at San Diego Christian,” said Citrus College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Tamara McDonald. “I know she will do nothing but great things in San Diego. They are truly blessed to have such a good player on and off the court.”
Thomas will be joining a San Diego Christian program that participates in the NAIA and one of its premier conferences the Golden State Athletic Conference. Thomas will look to contribute immediately for a Hawks program that went 4-25 during the 2009-2010 season.
