Mrs. Susan M. Keith of Claremont was elected as a member of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees in 1999, and was reelected in 2003 and in 2007. She represents Claremont and portions of Azusa, La Verne and Pomona, and currently serves as the trustee representative on the Citrus College Foundation Board of Directors.
Mrs. Keith's extensive community service includes The Claremont Forum and the Claremont Chamber of Commerce boards of directors; past president of the Baldy View Regional Occupation Program Commission; and past vice chair of the steering committee of the Claremont Youth Partnership. She is one of the founders of Claremont Meals-on- Wheels and was director of the League of Women Voters of Claremont. Mrs. Keith also co-chaired the Claremont Child Care Task Force, was a Spanish Trails Girl Scout leader for six years, and is past president and founding board member of the Public Relations Association of Southern California.
A former development and public relations executive, Mrs. Keith retired from Uncommon Good in 2007 where she served as the fund development director. She was director of fund development for Project SISTER and House of Ruth, and special projects director for the Volunteer Center of the Greater Pomona Valley. In addition, Mrs. Keith has extensive experience in educational public relations, holding positions at Claremont Graduate University, Pitzer College, and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She also operated her own business, Keith Consulting Services, and was a partner in Ring, Robinson and Associates.
Mrs. Keith has received several honors for her work in the community including the YWCA Woman of Achievement Award, the Community Hero Award from the Los Angeles County Fair Association, the Richard S. Kirkendall Extraordinary Contribution Award, and she has served as Grand Marshall of Claremont's annual Fourth of July parade.
Mrs. Keith earned a bachelor's degree at California State University, Hayward, and completed postgraduate study in art and photography.
