August 16, 2011
Dear Citrus College Faculty and Staff:
We hope this letter finds you relaxing and enjoying your summer! Although it seems as if the summer has just begun, the new academic year is upon us. Fall Semester 2011 will begin Friday, August 26, 2011, with our annual Convocation, a time to welcome each other back to Citrus and to focus on our commitment to the college's mission of supporting our students in meeting their educational goals.
Convocation
Convocation is for all employees: faculty, classified, management, and supervisors/confidential staff. Activities begin with all staff "signing in" at 8 a.m. on the patio area adjacent to the Haugh Performing Arts Center (HPAC) with continental breakfast provided by the Owl Café. Our own talented combo, the Flex Tones, will provide music. The Convocation program begins at 8:45 a.m., inside the HPAC followed by a morning Academic Senate meeting and concluding with division meetings in the afternoon. Our 112 longevity recipients collectively represent over 1,360 years of dedicated service to the college, and include our 35-year honoree. Please be on hand to offer your congratulations!
Parking Permits
Online procedures for submitting your vehicle registration for 2011-2012 have been implemented. If you have submitted your vehicle registration online, please bring a picture I.D. to the Campus Safety table at Convocation to receive your parking permit. If you have not yet submitted your vehicle registration, laptops will be available at Convocation for you to register and receive your parking permit (please be sure to have your license plate number with you).
Enjoy the remaining summer break! We look forward to seeing you at Convocation and to welcoming our students back to Citrus College on Monday, August 29, 2011.
Sincerely,
Geraldine M. Perri, Ph.D.
