Welcome! You are either enrolled in, or you are interested in enrolling in, the Political Science 103 Distance Education class. As described in the class schedule, this course deals with the origins and functions of the government of the United States with special emphasis on the background and causes of present problems. It meets the United States Constitution graduation requirement and includes local and state government.

You will need to use your Official Citrus College issued email account. Your email is established when you are registered for classes. You must have access to your email account prior to starting the class.

To ensure privacy, email communication between the student and instructor will only be done between the student's Citrus College email account and the instructor's Citrus College email account. Requests for assessment explanation or other academic advisement or consultation will not be sent to a student's non-Citrus College email account.

Required Textbook

  • Ginsberg, Lowi & Weir. We the People , Shorter 8th Edition (ISBN: 9780393935240)

Textbook Acquisition Advice and Policies

  • Be careful when choosing to order your book online, as opposed to purchasing it at the campus bookstore. I cannot make due date exceptions because you ordered a book and must wait for delivery, thus preventing you from completing the work on time. If you do order online, you should choose “next day” or a similar expedited shipping option.
  • You also may have the option of purchasing an “E-Book” version of the text at a significant discount. Consult the bookstore for this option.
  • I do not suggest obtaining a previous edition of the textbook since some quiz questions are based on cases and examples that are specific to the current edition.

Details regarding the course are set forth in the class website (see below). When you go there, pay particular attention to the syllabus section and the assignment section.
