Welcome! You are either enrolled in, or you are interested in possibly enrolling in Business Law 160. This course is intended to give an overview of the law as it applies to business.

THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS! You will be required to come to the Citrus College Testing Center (ED Building) three times during the semester to take three exams.

We will spend the first couple of weeks building a foundation of what the law is, and examining the American legal system, its constitutional authority and a brief study of torts and crimes. The remainder of the semester will be devoted to the study of contracts. We will first define contracts under the common law, and then concentrate on contracts for the sale of goods that are governed by the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and international sales law.

Details: Details regarding the course are set forth in the class website. When you go there (see below), pay attention to the syllabus section and the assignment section. We will cover the text at the rate of approximately four chapters per week. There are three exams (60%) and weekly assignments (40%). You must come to the Testing Center on campus to take these exams. The exams include both multiple-choice questions, true and false, as well as short essay questions. The assignments are developed to help you prepare for the exams and also so you will know the type of questions that will be asked on the exams.
