Federally Funded Programs

Financial aid comes in the form of grants, loans, and scholarships that are made possible through federal and state programs under Title-IV Federal Student Financial Aid. These programs help you pay for the costs of your college education.

Pell Grant
Gift aid that is awarded to undergraduate students based on financial need and the number of units enrolled. Current maximum Pell per academic year in $5,500 (Gift aid "grants" do not need to be paid back.)

Important Financial Aid Information For Pell Grant Eligible Students:
As of July 1, 2011, Federal Regulations require that institutions ensure that Pell Grant recipients have funding resources accessible to them in order to obtain books and supplies within the first seven days of the term. Therefore, the Citrus College Financial Aid Office, in collaboration with the Citrus College Owl Bookshop, have complied with this regulation, which allows Pell Grant recipients to have access to their financial aid funds during this seven day period in order to make such purchases. Any transactions not covered by financial aid funds is the purchaser's responsibility. After the seventh day, the amount spent at the Citrus College Owl Bookshop and any authorized fee deductions will be deducted from the student's financial aid and the remaining balance will be mailed to the student in the normal manner. Students will need to review the financial aid "disbursement information" on the Citrus College Financial Aid Office website to obtain the estimated disbursement dates.

Federal Supplement Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
Available to eligible students who are enrolled in 6 or more units per semester. The SEOG is awarded on a first come first serve basis and ranges from $100-$500 per academic school year.

The program allows the student to gain work experience and pay for a portion of educational expenses. Pay rate begins at minimum wage. Once awarded, students can apply for employment in the Student Employment Service Office.

Direct Federal Student Loans
