Three graduates at commencementImportant Financial Aid Information: Revised Pell Grant Policy
Students can receive two Pell Grants in one aid year starting with summer 2010.

The Higher Education Act signed on October 29, 2009 included recent changes to the Pell Grant Program effective for the 2009-2010 school year. These changes implemented by Congress allow students to receive up to two Pell Grants in one aid year (200%). For example, eligible students who were paid full-time during the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters (100%) could be eligible to receive an additional Pell Grant in the summer 2010 session.

As previously indicated and as a result of the new legislation, you may be eligible for a second scheduled Pell award for the summer session. To be considered for the second scheduled Pell award, you must be enrolled in at least 6 units. However, if you have not used your full remaining eligibility from the first scheduled Pell award you may not need to be enrolled in 6 units. The Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility based on your 2009-2010 Expected Family Contribution (EFC), units attending and the status of your financial aid satisfactory academic progress.

Summer 2010 Crossover Policy
All eligible financial aid students enrolled for the summer 2010 term and scheduled to receive a Pell Grant will automatically be assigned to the 2009-2010 Pell Schedule.

Please note: the availability of summer classes are limited.  These policies are in effect as of June 15, 2010.
