In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. Please check THIS WEB PAGE in the early morning of June 20 for updates on weather-related postponement.

For students planning to participate in the commencement ceremonies, the following information is important to you.

REHEARSAL
Commencement rehearsal will begin promptly at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 in the college stadium. Please plan on arriving at least one (1) hour early to complete your paperwork. All graduates need to attend for important instructions. The rehearsal will last approximately one (1) hour.

CEREMONY
On Saturday, June 18, 2011 graduates are to report to the main entrance of the stadium (west end), dressed in cap and gown, ready to form the line of march at 9 a.m. THE PROCESSION WILL START PROMPTLY AT 10 A.M. The ceremony will last approximately 1-1/2 hours. Graduates taking the walk

It is suggested that men wear dark shoes/socks and women wear dark shoes. Spike heels are NOT allowed as they will damage stadium turf and all-weather track. Caps should be worn square-flat, with the point forward and the tassel on the right side.

WHAT TO EXPECT at the Ceremony
Promptly at 10 a.m., the dignitaries will process into the stadium, followed by the faculty and graduates. After all of the students, faculty and dignitaries are seated, the superintendent/president and others will speak to the graduating class. Students will then proceed to the stage, where their names will be read, one at a time, and a picture will be taken by a professional photographer as they receive their degree from one of the members of the Board of Trustees. After all of the names of the graduates have been read, there will be a recessional.

Guests are encouraged to exit from the grandstand down onto the football field to pose with graduates, family, friends and faculty members after the ceremony.

GUESTS
There is ample seating in the stadium and no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite. No guest tickets or parking permits are required.

PARKING, STADIUM ACCESS & SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS
Due to the large number of guests in attendance and major construction projects in the area, the stadium lot may become very congested. Guests should be encouraged to arrive one (1) hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony.

If you are inviting a guest who requires special accommodations, there will be a designated area for elderly guests and guests in wheelchairs. Only one attendant or family member will be permitted to sit in the designated area with the guest. Please ask any of the security personnel to direct you to the designated area.  For additional questions about special accommodations, please call Pam McGuern in Student Services (626) 914-8532.

A limited number of vans will be available to shuttle elderly guests, or those who have trouble walking, from the main lot to the South stadium entrance and back again after the ceremony. Please note: There is no disabled access to the stadium at the East entrance.

** Refer to the parking map for areas where parking is allowed and which areas to avoid due to construction. All graduates and guests should arrive one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony.
